Barrios Kitchen & Bar is a Filipino restaurant in downtown Halifax, at 1571 Barrington Street, not in Dartmouth. But if you are looking for Filipino food in Dartmouth, you have four ways to get it from us: delivery through the apps, party trays you pick up, catering for a big event, or dinner across the harbour.
Delivery to Dartmouth
We are on Uber Eats and DoorDash, and both apps cover Dartmouth. The apps run Tuesday to Saturday from 12 PM to 8 PM, and are off on Sunday and Monday. Open the app, enter your address and look for Barrios.
For regular takeout on a Sunday, call to ask about pickup. It depends on the day, and the chef may say no.
Party trays for a Dartmouth get-together
Our party trays are pickup only, from our Barrington Street kitchen. We do not have a delivery vehicle, but you can book an Uber courier in the Uber app to collect your trays and bring them over the bridge.
Order 24 to 48 hours ahead and enter your pickup date and time at checkout. Some trays can be done the same day if you call 902-444-2515 or message us on Facebook or Instagram. Pickup runs Tuesday to Saturday from 11:30 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 4 PM.
A family size tray serves about 5 and a party size tray about 10. For a mixed crowd, this lineup covers noodles, something grilled, something crispy and something saucy. The prices below are family size, except the rice, which is one tray for about 10:

Hot dishes are packed in foil containers inside a box, which holds the heat for the drive and the first serving, but they will cool over a long party. Chafing dishes can sometimes be rented; ask first, since the same ones are used for brunch and catering. Crispy pata and lechon belly trays are boxed to keep them crisp, and an air fryer is the best way to bring the skin back if they sit.
Filipino catering in Dartmouth
Our off-site catering covers Halifax, Dartmouth and the surrounding HRM. The buffet is $37 per person for 50 guests or more, plus 14 per cent HST on the food and a 15 per cent service fee, which has no HST. Because it is off-site, transportation is added, with HST on it. It includes spring rolls, one side, one noodle dish, four entrées (one each of chicken, beef, pork and seafood) and dessert.
Our staff set up, bring the equipment, refill and arrange the food, and answer questions about the dishes. Servers are not included, and drinks are not included off-site. Give us at least one to two weeks' notice.
Coming over for dinner
Some dishes are best eaten at the table. Pork sisig ($20) comes sizzling on a cast iron plate, and crispy pata ($27) and lechon kawali ($19) are at their crunchiest straight from the kitchen.
The Alderney and Woodside ferries both land at the Halifax ferry terminal on the waterfront. From there, walk up George Street to Barrington, turn left and go about two to three blocks south, past Prince and Sackville. We are on the west side, just south of Sackville Street, about a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal. Check Halifax Transit for ferry times.
We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 11:30 AM, until 9 PM Tuesday to Thursday and 11 PM on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is Filipino brunch from 10:30 AM to 4 PM, at $29 per adult, and we are closed on Mondays. Book a table or call 902-444-2515. Prices shown are from our current menu and may change.
