Filipino Restaurant Open Now in Halifax: Our Hours, Including Sunday
If you are downtown with your phone out, wondering whether there is a Filipino restaurant open right now in Halifax, this is the page. Barrios Kitchen & Bar is at 1571 Barrington Street, and here is the week.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 11:30 AM to 9 PM.
Friday and Saturday: 11:30 AM to 11 PM.
Sunday: brunch only, 10:30 AM to 4 PM.
Monday: closed.
These are our regular hours as of October 2026. Holidays can move them. Over Christmas we plan to be open December 24, 25 and 31, and closed December 26 and January 1, but for a same-day answer the phone or our Facebook page beats any website. Call 902-444-2515.
Open on Sunday in Halifax: brunch, and only brunch
Sunday is the day people get caught out on. We open at 10:30 in the morning and we stop at four in the afternoon, and what we serve is Filipino brunch, $29 for adults, $15 for children 12 and under, and free for children 5 and under. It is a fixed-price spread rather than the regular menu, so you cannot come in on a Sunday and order sisig off the dinner list. Tocino, longganisa, pandesal and siomai are on the spread every week, with a soup or porridge and lunch dishes that rotate. Sago gulaman and water are self-serve, and coffee is brought to your table on request, with refills.
Reservations are recommended for every brunch, so book a table or call 902-444-2515 if you can.
After four o'clock on a Sunday we are finished for the day. If you are searching for Filipino food on a Sunday evening in Halifax, we are not the answer that night. Come for brunch instead, or make it any day from Tuesday.
Monday we are closed
Monday is our staff's day off, and the restaurant is closed: no dining room, no takeout and no tray pickup. We sometimes open for events, so if you need something on a Monday, call or message us.

Tuesday to Thursday
Our hours run straight through the afternoon on these days, so a late lunch at half past two is a real option, and so is an early dinner before a show. Book a table early enough, and tell your server when you need to leave. The last booked table is at 8 PM, and walk-ins are seated until about 8 or 8:30. The Neptune Theatre is about five minutes on foot from our door.
Friday and Saturday
These are the two long nights of the week, and Saturday nights usually have live music. Last seating is 10 PM. After that the kitchen keeps going until the chef calls it, usually around half past ten.
If you are coming late on a Friday or a Saturday, call 902-444-2515 on your way to check. That is a better plan than arriving at a quarter past ten and hoping.
If you would rather eat at home
Takeout and delivery run through Uber Eats and DoorDash, Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 8 PM. Both apps are off on Sunday. The apps reach Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville and Clayton Park; check the app for your address.
You can also call 902-444-2515 for pickup or to place an order ahead, or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram if you would rather type than talk. On a Sunday, pickup is by phone only, and the chef may say no depending on the day, so call and ask.
Party trays keep their own clock
Tray pickup is Tuesday to Saturday 11:30 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 11:30 AM to 4 PM, with no pickup on Monday. On a Friday or Saturday that is three hours before the dining room closes, so do not plan on collecting a tray at ten at night.
Tray orders need 24 to 48 hours of notice. Some can be done the same day if you call first. Either way, your pickup date and time go in at checkout, because an order without them cannot be confirmed.
What to do with the time you have
If it is just you, or you want a simple meal, order a single plate. Sisig at $20, chicken inasal at $22 and lechon kawali at $19 all come complete with rice.
If you are a group settling in, order for the middle of the table and keep adding as the plates empty. Spring rolls at $9 and the pork barbecue skewers at $15 are the easiest place to start. Have a look at the menu before you come so the table is not deciding from cold.
