Filipino Party Food Trays in Halifax: How to Order from Barrios
When the guest list is bigger than your kitchen, party trays let you put a Filipino spread on the table without doing the cooking. Barrios Kitchen & Bar makes party trays in Halifax for pickup from our kitchen at 1571 Barrington Street in downtown Halifax, for birthdays, office gatherings, family parties and community events.
Here is what we make, how much each tray feeds, and how ordering and pickup work.
How many people our party trays feed
Most of our catering trays come in two sizes. A family size tray serves about 5 people and a party size tray serves about 10. The prices below are for the family size, and party size prices are on the tray page. Two trays work differently: lechon belly is sold by weight, and rice is priced per tray for about 10 people. Prices shown are from our current party tray menu and may change.

Lechon belly, $75 for 5 lb, which serves about 12. Rolled, seasoned pork belly roasted in the oven. See below for larger sizes.
Crispy pata, $80.
Filipino-style pork barbecue skewers, $70. Gluten free.
Pork sisig, $40. On trays, the sisig and egg are already cooked together.
Crispy pork kare-kare, $40.
Roast beef caldereta, $45.
Beef brisket with truffle mushroom sauce, $45.
Chicken inasal, $40. Grilled chicken marinated in citrus, garlic and spices. Pork free.
Chicken ala king, $40.
Breaded chicken wings, $70.
Garlic shrimp, $45.
Noodles and pasta:
Pancit bihon, $35.
Pancit malabon, $40.
Palabok, $40.
Filipino-style spaghetti, $40.
Mushroom truffle penne, $40.
Lasagna, $75.
Starters and rice:
Spring rolls, $20.
Lumpiang sariwa, fresh spring rolls with a peanut sauce on the side, $45 (one size only: a 10-piece party tray).
Siomai, steamed dumplings, $50.
Steamed rice, $20 for about 10 people.

We can also make a barbecue pork ribs tray, and Filipino-style fried chicken on request.
Allergies and diets: the kare-kare contains peanut, which cannot be left out, the lumpiang sariwa comes with a peanut sauce on the side, and palabok and garlic shrimp contain shellfish. The pork barbecue skewers, pancit bihon and sisig are gluten free.
Lechon belly sizes
Our lechon belly is sold by weight, with a 5 lb minimum. A 5 lb lechon belly serves about 12 for $75, and an 8 lb serves about 20 for $120. Each extra pound is $15. We do not sell a whole roast pig.
Building the spread
For a mixed crowd, pick one tray from each of these: something crisp, like spring rolls or crispy pata; something saucy to go with rice, like caldereta or kare-kare; a noodle, like pancit bihon; and something grilled, like the barbecue skewers or chicken inasal. Add rice for the saucy dishes.

How to order
Order on our party trays page 24 to 48 hours ahead, and enter your pickup date and time at checkout.
Some trays can be made the same day if you call 902-444-2515 or message us on Facebook or Instagram. It depends on the day, since we buy ingredients fresh.
On very busy days, such as Easter and Mother's Day, tray orders must be confirmed by us first and may be turned down.

Pickup, not delivery
Trays are pickup only, at 1571 Barrington Street, Tuesday to Saturday from 11:30 AM to 8 PM and Sunday from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. We are closed on Mondays.
We do not have a delivery vehicle or driver. If you cannot collect the trays yourself, you can book an Uber courier in the Uber app to pick them up for you.
Keeping it hot and crisp
Hot dishes are packed in foil containers inside a box, which holds the heat for the trip and the first serving. Over a long party they will cool, so plan to serve soon after pickup or reheat before serving.
Crispy pata and lechon belly are boxed to keep the skin crisp. If the skin softens, an air fryer is the best way to bring it back.
Lids and serving utensils are available on request. We can sometimes rent chafing dishes with fuel. Ask first, since the same ones are used for our brunch and catering, and the price depends on how many you need.
Trays or catering?
Trays suit a party where guests serve themselves and you handle the setup. For 50 guests or more, where you want our staff to set up and refill the buffet, look at our catering instead.
